Recording method:
Composing the music initially, I do not limit myself in a style.
The whole of my influences is thus found there. I record in only
one catch each instrument to keep a cohesion of the emotion inside
the title. The soli are made in only one catch with the same state
of mind. They are thus not written in advance but improvised at
the time. The recording is done by micro catch, explaining an
average quality of the sound. The battery is composed by computer
and the final mix is carried out also on computer.
Influences:
They are rather varied. Since my youth, I listen to rock'n'roll
(Midnight Oil, Dire Straits, Queen, etc…) and electronic music
of Jean Michel Jarre. Thereafter, from the groups of Hard Rock
such as Gun's and Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ugly Kid Joe,
Pantera or Sepultura came to be added to it. The breaking neo
metal wave, I was attached there during a time with groups like
KoRn, Machine Head (at the time), Deftones, Mudvayne, Fear Factory,
$lipKnot, etc... Then the opening comes on the great family from
metal with melodic death/trash (Dark Tranquillity, Inflames, Soilwork,
Arch Enemy,...), atmospheric (The Gathering, Tool, A Perfect Circle),
Gothic (Moonspell, Dead Can Dance), power, indus, metal of Devin
Townsend...
At side, I continue to listen to soft rock'n'roll (Radiohead,
Muse, Jeff Buckley...) and explores other musics like Trip Hop
(Morcheeba, Massive attack, Ulver,…), the unclassable Björk,
modern blues (Ben Harper, Keziah Jones...), etc...
Favorite bands:
Metallica, Iron Maiden, Machine
Head, Devin Townsend, Dark Tranquillity, KoRn.
Biography:
I began the music at the age of five by making electric organ.
Very quickly, I turned to the synthetizer to be able to make an
electronic music of the style of that of Jean Michel Jarre. The
passion of the improvisation and the composition goes up on the
surface when I pass to the piano blues. My musical tastes evolving
to metal, I put myself only at the guitar continuously to make
piano. Quickly the guitar taken the step on the piano. It enabled
me to be detached from the school apprenticeship and released
me. I directly put to compose without having much technique. Having
made some scenes as a clavierist, I decide to initially assemble
a metal band and rock'n'roll then, to be able to go up on scene.
After some failures but also of the successes (1 rock band, 1
metal band), the idea of Crysalys becomes increasingly clear.
I thus decide to fully devote me to it.
